Rule #1: Tycoon Online is meant to be fun.
Tycoon Online is a family-friendly game that is meant to provide entertainment and fun. We want all players to be able to enjoy themselves, so any action by a player that detracts from that fun could be considered a violation of Rule #1. This includes trolling, spamming, harassing
other players, etc. Since we are family-friendly, this also includes any foul or suggestive language. Remember there are minors presents, including minors who live in cultures that may be very different from yours.
All items in the game have no cash value, may not be transferred or redeemed,
and may be removed, deleted, or changed at any time for any reason.
Rule #2: Prohibited actions
A player may not:
- Create more than one account
- Use any script or other tool to access the game or automate gameplay (this includes automatically refreshing a game page)
- Share his or her account information with another player (except as permitted by Rule #4 below)
- Use a proxy server to evade a ban
- Exploit a bug to gain a benefit
- Publicly post (within the game, or outside of the game) information which may be used by other players to cheat
- Publicly make cheating accusations. If you suspect cheating, please report it privately to game staff via the email addresses listed at the end of these rules.
- Publicly question the actions of game staff, particularly in regards to actions to enforce these rules. Any issues with staff actions should be taken up directly with the game Administrator, whose decision, if any, shall be final.
- Post or send messages which may be considered commercial, harrassing, offensive, vulgar, demeaning, insulting or threatening in nature
- Violate the forum rules posted within the game
- Disregard direct instructions by game staff, including but not limited to requests not to repeat certain behavior, even if that behavior is not specifically prohibited by these rules.
- Engage in any attempt to compromise the security of the game, including but not limited to: guessing at other player's passwords, impersonating game admins, attempting any type of scripting, injection, or other attack on the website, attempting to access any page that is not directly linked within the game, attempting to submit invalid data to game webpages, or attempting to access game servers on any port other than port 80 or 443.
Rule #3: Multiple players at one location
We encourage players to refer friends and family members to play. However, care must be taken to avoid the appearance of a single person playing multiple accounts. For situations where multiple players will be playing the game from the same location (IP address), the following procedures must be followed:
- A game admin must be notified ! See the in-game "Help Me" link to find one.
- The players may not be in the same game city.
- Players may not login to each others accounts.
- Players may not "work together" to supply one or the other account with goods. For example: one account producing mostly cotton and the other account buying alot of cotton.
Failure to notify a game admin may result in both accounts being banned without warning.
Rule #4: Account sitting
If a player will be unable to log in due to a vacation or other real-life event, players are encouraged to deactivate their companies or find a non-player friend to manage their company.
Normally, players are prohibited from sharing their account information with other players. However, if a player knows another player personally and trusts them, he or she may submit a request to admin to allow another player to take care of their company. Sitting is only permitted for an absence of more than 3 days and less than 21 days.
The request must include the following information:
- The name of the player who will be taking care of the account
- The start and end times of the account sitting
If approved by game admin, the player should change his or her password to something he or she is willing to share with the sitter, then change it back when he or she returns.
The following rules apply to account sitting:
- Certain actions may not be taken by a sitter. A sitter may not:
- Post messages in the forum
- Read or send messages to or from other players
- A player may only sit for one other player at a time.
Rule #5: Gold Membership, termination
Players are encouraged to support the game by purchasing Gold Memberships. We really like our players with Gold Memberships! However, players must understand that Gold Membership does not permit any player to disregard these rules.
Violation of these rules may result in the termination of a player's membership, even if that player has an active Gold Membership. There are no refunds for Gold Membership fees paid, and Gold Membership days are not transferable.
